08 – Steve Whitaker

“The scripture demands on this whole issue (poverty), that we get to know people. If we are going to give money away, we must get to know who they are, and that goes beyond just giving them cash.”

Steve Whitaker is President/CEO and Senior Pastor of John 3:16 Mission, a Gospel rescue ministry that serves Tulsa’s homeless men and women as well as at-risk children and families. Steve’s career at the Mission began in 1989 when he was charged with founding the Mission’s outreach to urban children, teens and their families.

On this episode, Steve chats with Casey and Daniel about the work at John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa, and how the Church can play a pivotal role in eliminating poverty in their communities.
